Welcome! We are under construction.
Dr. Klepeis and his colleagues at SDSU and dfusion, inc are launching a project to study how the Personal Exposure Toolkit (PET) can be used to detect and characterize environmental triggers of asthma attacks. A better understanding of asthma triggers can play a vital role in asthma management.
Are you interested in testing how a personal air monitoring system may help you log your environmental quality and asthma symptoms?
We are looking for participants who are youth aged 13 or older who have or are developing an asthma management plan. We need input on the features of the PET Recorder mobile app and how it can be used with the Atmotube monitor to document asthma triggers and communicate your experience to others.
Please click the button below to submit an interest form.
Note: All participants must give informed consent to participate or assent if under 18. Parents or guardians of minors under 18 will need to give consent.
We are collaborating with youth who experience asthma symptoms. Study participants will be supported as follows:
We will provide you with a Personal Exposure Toolkit (PET) for air monitoring to measure your personal exposure to air contaminants and simultaneously log your contexts and asthma symptoms
We will provide training and assistance in using the PET
We will help you create summaries and personal narratives about exposure that can be shared with peers, family, or health care providers
